News that immediately created a certain alarmism, as it would harm those who rely on the import market. Fortunately it turned out to be a block that will affect a lot poco we Western users, mostly concerning Asian users. As specified by the company itself, it is a block that will only affect those who use the ROM MIUI China and not the Global and EEA ones.

In short, regardless of which smartphone you have in your hands, you just need to have installed a MIUI 12.5 Global or EEA and you will not have any problems with Google services. On the contrary, two types of users will have problems: the first is the one who buys smartphones for which there is no Global ROM. There are very few, actually, but there are. The second is the one who relies on MIUI China Beta, currently the only way to test the MIUI 12.5 preview, for example.

However, Xiaomi has decided that this limit for Chinese ROMs concerns a small number of models. All those smartphones with a hardware platform Snapdragon 855, 865 e 888 will not be subject to blocking, albeit with MIUI China. This means that smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi 8 Explorer, Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Ultra will still be able to count on Google services.

Not only that: with MIUI 12.5 the installation of Google and Play Store services has been simplified. Contrary to the past, the latest version of Xiaomi's UI has the Google framework already installed. Therefore it is no longer necessary to use the classic installer that we find on the Xiaomi app store, but a much faster procedure. Once you have entered your login data, the Google Play Store will appear in MIUI 12.5 and you can download all the various apps you need. Unfortunately there is a small list of Xiaomi smartphones that will continue to have the block. In their case, the only way to get Google services will be to unlock the bootloader, install a TWRP and flash an alternative ROM.
